While there was tremendous enthusiasm among the fans about his new film with director Trivikram Srinivas, now the protest against it has intensified in Tamil Nadu and the demand to ban the film has also started rising.
According to reports, the film is said to be based on mythology and may depict events related to Lord Murugan. However, the makers have not yet shared any official information regarding the story or characters of the film. Despite this, controversy has arisen over the initial poster and caption that surfaced on social media.
The main cause of controversy is a claim made in an alleged poster of the film, which said that Lord Murugan was born in ‘North India’. People and political organizations in Tamil Nadu have expressed displeasure over this matter. He says Lord Murugan is an important part of Tamil culture and faith and is deeply linked to South India, especially Tamil identity. In such a situation, any kind of wrong or disputed claim regarding his birthplace can hurt the sentiments.
Tamil leader and former actor Seeman has also taken a strong stand on this issue. He issued a statement on social media platform X and warned the makers of the film. Seeman alleged that if facts about Lord Murugan were tampered or misrepresented in the film, it would lead to widespread protests in Tamil Nadu. He clearly said that distorting religious and cultural facts in the name of art will not be accepted. Seeman has also demanded that any presentation related to Lord Murugan in the film should be shown with the correct historical and religious context. He warned that if this was not done, it could have serious consequences.
At present, there has been no official response from the producers of the film on this entire controversy. At the same time, the shooting of the film has not started yet, but there is discussion about its title that its name could be ‘God of War’. This film of Jr NTR has been surrounded by controversies even before its release and now all eyes are on the next step of the makers and the official clarification.
