Mehsana/Ahmedabad. A dreadful tragedy like acid attack can break any person from within, but the story of Kajal Prajapati, a resident of Mehsana, Gujarat, is exactly the opposite. A terrible acid attack 10 years ago might have scorched his face and taken away the vision of one eye, but it could not break his courage. With her indomitable courage and determination, 28-year-old Kajal has set a unique example for the entire country by passing two government job exams simultaneously after a decade.
According to the information received, Kajal, daughter of an auto-rickshaw driver from Ramosana village in Mehsana district of Gujarat, first passed the recruitment examination for the post of 'Talati-cum-Mantri'. Just two months later, he also passed the 'Deputy Mamlatdar' examination. Kajal has chosen the post of 'Deputy Mamlatdar', considered the more prestigious of the two, in which her monthly salary will be Rs 49,600. Verification of their documents is to take place on September 17.
Was attacked at the age of 18 When Kajal was 18 years old and a first year B.Com student, on 14 February 2016, an engineering student threw acid on her after she rejected his proposal. In this attack, he suffered serious injuries on his face, chest and hands and he had to undergo more than 25 reconstructive surgeries. Kajal told that in those painful days of the hospital itself, she had decided that she did not want people's sympathy, but respect in the society and economic independence.
Due to financial constraints, Kajal studied for 8 to 10 hours every day in the District Panchayat Library of Mehsana without any coaching. She never hid her face with a scarf or mask while going out, because she wanted to break the hesitation of people's staring eyes and live life on her own terms. Kajal gives credit for her historic success to her elder brother Rahul, friends Jaya and Rinku Patel as well as her doctors, who supported her at every step in this difficult journey.
