Kalvakuntla Kavitha forms new party, breaks ties with BRS

A big change has been seen in the politics of Telangana. Kalvakuntla Kavitha, daughter of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, has announced her new political party ‘Telangana Rashtra Sena’. With this step, he has completely distanced himself from his father’s party Bharat Rashtra Samiti, which has started a new stir in the politics of the state.

Party name, flag and agenda made public

In a big program organized in Munirabad of Medchal district, Kavita made public the name, flag and agenda of her new party. During this, a large number of his supporters were present and an atmosphere of enthusiasm was seen in the entire program. It is being told that about 50 thousand people from different parts of Telangana participated in this rally. A ground spread over about 20 acres was used for the event, which was designed by Professor K., the leading ideologue of the Telangana movement. Was dedicated in the name of Jaishankar.

According to sources, Kavita wanted to retain the acronym ‘TRS’ for her new party. This is the same name, which was once considered a symbol of Telangana’s separate statehood movement and regional identity. Through this name, he has tried to indicate that his party will remain focused on the core issues of the state and the aspirations of the people.

Kavitha has also been associated with a social organization called ‘Telangana Jagriti’, which played an active role during the demand for a separate Telangana state. Earlier there were speculations that this organization would be given the form of a political party, but after the announcement of the new party, all these speculations have come to an end.

Historical significance of the name ‘TRS’

It is noteworthy that the name ‘TRS’ has historical significance. This was the name under which KCR once had a strong hold in the politics of the state. However, he later changed the name of the party to Bharat Rashtra Samiti. Now by adopting the same short name, Kavita has given the message that she wants to carry forward that political legacy.

Earlier, Kavita was suspended due to allegations of anti-party activities. After this, on 3 September 2025, he not only left the membership of the party but also resigned from the post of MLC.
