Kangana Ranaut has doubled down on her ‘lomdi’ (fox) jibe at Naseeruddin Shah, this time, she dragged Pakistan into her allegations and called out what she called the film industry’s hypocrisy.
Speaking to ANI, the 40-year-old actress-turned politician recalled the unrest during the Jantar Mantar protests, claiming several of her parliamentarian friends had people climbing onto their cars and breaking windows, while around 2,500 people had gathered outside her own home, keeping her family up at night with a heavy police presence.
The BJP member of parliament said, “So when a situation like this was unfolding at Jantar Mantar, they were all shedding crocodile tears. But now that children in Jharkhand are facing this kind of oppression, aren’t they Gen Z too? Is someone only considered Gen Z if they act against the country or abuse the Prime Minister?”
“The crocodile tears that people from the film industry were shedding for Jantar Mantar, they should shed the same tears for the children in Jharkhand as well,” she added.
She then defended her earlier ‘lomdi ‘ comment about the veteran actor, saying, “I said this about Naseeruddin Shah because he had made such a distasteful video in which he was making threats of this kind. And whenever you look at his films, interviews or statements, it is always about Pakistan. Yeh Pakistan ki prem katha kab khatam hogi? Jab dekho Pakistan ke prem mein yeh mare rahte hain.”
Last week, the Queen actress had reposted a comment by actor Piyush Mishra questioning Naseeruddin’s silence on the Jharkhand protests.
Besides it, she penned her own note: “It is true that everyone is someone's dog but I am proud of the fact that I am the one who eats the bread of this house (country), I am the one who takes care of it, and I am the son of it.
Naseer Saab eats toh iss desh ke hain but ladte pasodi desh ke liye hai.” She added, “PS: In today's time it is a compliment to be called a dog because loyalty and cuteness is so rare. I would rather be a dog than a fox like Naseeruddin.”
