Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’ tax free in Rajasthan, Finance Department issued orders after appeal to Deputy CM Diya Kumari

Jaipur, 14 June. The recently released film ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’ starring actress and MP Kangana Ranaut in the lead role has been declared tax free in the entire state by the Rajasthan government. The state Finance (Tax) Department issued official orders in this regard on Saturday. These orders have been issued the very next day of the special screening of the film held in Jaipur. Under this decision of the government, the audience will not have to pay State GST (SGST) on the tickets of this film for the next six months, which will be compensated by the state government itself.

CM and Deputy CM were present in the special screening, Kangana had appealed

Earlier, a special screening of the film was organized at EP Miraj cinema hall in Jaipur on Friday. Many dignitaries associated with the health sector including Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, MP Manju Sharma, film producer Jayantilal Gada and director Manoj Tapadia were present in this program. While interacting with the media after the screening, Kangana Ranaut had personally requested Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari to make the film tax free. Showing a positive attitude on this appeal of Kangana, the Deputy CM had assured to take a quick decision after discussing with the Chief Minister, after which this order was issued on Saturday.

The story is based on the ‘unsung heroes’ of 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

The film ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’ is based on the horrific backdrop of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008. The film especially brings to the screen the indomitable bravery and struggle of the nurses, doctors and medical staff working at Cama Hospital in Mumbai, who protected the patients and pregnant women without caring for their lives amid the terrorist attack. Kangana Ranaut also honored nursing workers during the program in Jaipur. Raising an old issue, he said that the then Maharashtra government had announced to give one month additional salary or increment to these brave nursing staff, which they have not received till date. Kangana termed it an injustice to the health workers and said that this film is a tribute to their dedication.

Rajasthan becomes the third state, already tax free in Delhi-Haryana

It is noteworthy that considering the social, inspirational and patriotic message of the film, before Rajasthan, Delhi and Haryana governments have also declared it tax free in their states. Now Rajasthan has become the third state in the country to do so. The film stars Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, Asha Shelar, Priya Arjun Berde, Zahid Khan and Suhita Thatte in lead roles along with Kangana Ranaut.
