What is Griha Lakshmi Yojana?

In the year 2023, Griha Lakshmi Yojana was launched in the state of Karnataka by the Department of Women and Child Development, the objective of which is to provide cash assistance of ₹ 2,000 every month to the female head of the family, so that she can take her own household decisions and improve her condition in the family. However, in other states, schemes like Ladli Behna are playing an important role in the empowerment of women.

Who can apply?

Under Griha Lakshmi Yojana, only those women can apply, whose name is recorded as the head of the family in the ration card. Whether the woman is married, widowed or divorced. The woman’s family should be permanent residents of Karnataka. But keep in mind that if anyone in the applicant’s family pays income tax or GST, they cannot avail the benefits of the scheme.
