Desk. The new release date of Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao's much awaited film 'Prahar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam' has been officially announced. Earlier this film was scheduled to hit the theaters on 7th of August, but due to some reasons its release was postponed. Now the makers have decided that this popular biopic will be released on the big screen on 16 October 2026. However, the makers have not revealed the reasons behind postponing the release of the film.
The teaser of the film released in the month of June had created a lot of curiosity among the audience. The teaser gives a serious glimpse into the life of India's veteran government lawyer Ujjwal Nikam, his long career and historic court battles. The story of the film mainly focuses on the high-profile case of dreaded terrorist Ajmal Kasab, who was caught after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The trial is considered one of the biggest milestones in the history of the Indian justice system, and the teaser perfectly captures the tension and seriousness of the court proceedings.
Rajkumar Rao is playing the lead role in the film. He has very closely captured the body language of lawyer Ujjwal Nikam and his style of speaking Marathi. The teaser includes several emotional and heated courtroom debate scenes, where Rajkummar Rao's poised acting and the film's powerful dialogues add to the intense and impactful atmosphere. 'Prahar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam' is directed by Avinash Arun Dhavare, who has given a very practical and realistic approach to the story. Apart from Rajkumar Rao, Vamika Gabbi will be seen in the lead role in this film made under the banner of Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films. Along with these, the star cast of the film also includes great actors like Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher and Tarun Sharma in important roles.
