Kedarnath doors opened with echo of Har Har Mahadev, special puja done for PM Modi, ban on mobile phones

Kedarnath Dham Yatra 2026: The doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened for the devotees at 8 am today amid rituals and chanting of Vedic mantras. Before the doors opened, the entire Dham was decorated in a very grand manner. Around 51 quintals of flowers decorated the temple premises and the surrounding area, filling the entire atmosphere with spiritual and divine aura.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present on this auspicious occasion of opening of doors. He performed puja as per tradition and also offered a special prayer in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During this time, despite the severe cold, thousands of devotees came to see Baba Kedar and the entire area echoed with the slogan of Har Har Mahadev. Now for the next six months, i.e. from April 22 to November, the doors of Kedarnath Dham will remain open for devotees.

PM Modi expressed happiness by tweeting

On the occasion of opening of doors, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shared the message on social media platform X. He wrote that the opening of the doors of Kedarnath Dham situated in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand with proper rituals is a divine celebration of faith, unity and the eternal tradition of India. He said that Chardham Yatra is not only a religious journey, but it is also a symbol of the depth and spiritual heritage of Indian culture. PM Modi wished a safe and successful journey of all the devotees and prayed to Baba Kedar to bestow his blessings on everyone.

After the opening of the doors, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also offered prayers in the temple and appealed to the devotees to take special care of cleanliness during the yatra. He said that the state government has made all the necessary arrangements for the Chardham Yatra, but the cooperation of the devotees is equally important so that the yatra remains smooth and safe.

Temple administration imposed ban on using phones

Meanwhile, the temple administration has taken an important decision to maintain the sanctity and order of Kedarnath Dham. Now the use of mobile phones has been completely banned in the temple premises. Devotees will neither be able to take photos, nor make videos nor record reels inside the temple. According to the temple committee, this decision has been taken so that the spiritual atmosphere of the temple is maintained and the darshan system is not disrupted. A warning has also been given of strict legal action against those who violate the rules.

Temple committee member Vineet Posti said this step has been taken to make the experience of devotees more peaceful and spiritual. He said that all passengers should follow the guidelines and cooperate with the administration so that there is no chaos.
