Elephant Throws Car: Videos of worrying incidents during temple festivals from Kerala are becoming increasingly viral on social media. It is being told that on May 1, an elephant suddenly went out of control at Kidangoor Sri Mahavishnu Temple in Ernakulam district.
According to viral claims, a lorry driver died in the elephant attack while the mahout was seriously injured. In the video, the elephant is seen creating a ruckus in the temple premises, due to which an atmosphere of chaos was created there.
A 40-year-old man was killed and another injured after an elephant ‘Mayyanad Parthasarathy’ ran amok during a festival-related movement near the Kidangoor Mahavishnu Temple in Angamaly.

A lorry driver died in an elephant attack
In the video that surfaced on social media, the elephant was seen picking up a car, throwing it and causing severe damage. It was told that the name of the elephant is ‘Mayyanad Parthasarathy’, who got angry while being taken for drinking water in the morning. After this he attacked the truck driver Vishnu.
After the incident seen in the viral video, devotees and employees were seen running here and there to save their lives. It took about two hours for the officials and the rescue team to control the elephant. Meanwhile, the walls of the temple and many vehicles were also damaged.

Debate intensifies on use of elephants in temple festivals
According to reports, in a separate incident at Koodal Manikyam temple, a 25-year-old man died after being trampled by an elephant. After continuous such incidents, the debate on the use of elephants in temple festivals has intensified.
Many people said that the use of animals for religious events and entertainment should be stopped. At the same time, some users believe that elephants should live in forests or wildlife sanctuaries only. Following these incidents, some temple rituals have been temporarily stopped due to security reasons.
