New Delhi: The field was decorated, the players were ready and the noise of enthusiasm was echoing all around. Some were placing bets while others were waiting with bated breath for the raid. The occasion was the district level Kabaddi Championship organized by Rohini District Police, where along with the game, the message was also given to the youth to stay away from drugs, crime and anti-social activities.
Women's participation gave the message of empowerment
As part of the community policing initiative, this Kabaddi competition, organized at Dada Paubara Ground near Dada Paubara Temple in Ladpur Kanjhawala on Sunday, was organized under the guidance of Joint Commissioner of Police, Northern Range, Vijay Singh. Many teams participated enthusiastically in the competition. The special attraction was the participation of the women's Kabaddi team which gave the message of women empowerment and equal opportunities in the sports field.
Officials met the players
During the competition, Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Singh, Rohini District Police Deputy Commissioner Shashank Jaiswal and Additional DCP Tanushree met the players and encouraged them. The officials appealed to the youth to make sports a part of their daily routine and adopt physical fitness discipline and healthy lifestyle. The youth were also given the message to stay away from drugs, crime and other anti-social activities.
Excitement increased due to the presence of Manjeet Chhillar
The presence of former Indian Kabaddi team captain Manjeet Chhillar in the program filled new enthusiasm among the players. While sharing his sports experiences, he inspired the players to move forward with hard work, discipline and determination. His experiences gave a message of dedication towards the game to the young players present in the field.
Strengthening police-public communication through sports
The objective of this police initiative was not only to organize a competition but also to strengthen communication and trust between the youth and the police. An effort was made to give positive direction to the youth through sports and to connect them with the creation of a healthy and drug-free society.

At the conclusion of the competition, the winning and runner-up teams were honored with prizes and trophies. Players also expressed enthusiasm for the event. The active participation of the local community, policemen and youth made the entire event special.
