Kia Sorento SUV Reaches Dealership Ahead of Official Launch

Kia has already started production of the Sorento, and as we write this article, the launch of the all-new 7-seater SUV from Kia is taking place. While the launch is happening in one part of the country, Kia has already started shipping the car to different parts of India. Ahead of the official launch, the Kia Sorento has already started reaching dealerships.

The images have been shared by Auto Intel India on its X profile. Looking at the post, it appears that the Sorento seen in these pictures was spotted at a dealership somewhere in West Bengal. The car seen here is finished in an Aurora Black Pearl shade. It looks like the car had reached the dealership for staff training and to familiarise them with its features and mechanical components.

The Sorento gets an aggressive-looking front end, which looks particularly premium in the black shade seen in the post. The SUV features a high-gloss, three-dimensional Tiger Nose radiator grille with a brushed-aluminium outline. Next to the grille are vertically positioned Star Map LED DRLs. The LED turn indicators are dual-function units positioned horizontally, while the headlamps are all-LED units and are vertically stacked. The fog lamps are also LED units and are placed at the lower part of the bumper, next to the air dam.

The SUV gets a boxy design, along with brushed-aluminium garnish on the fenders. It also comes with dual-tone, machine-cut 19-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, vertically positioned LED tail lamps, a muscular-looking rear bumper, an electric tailgate and more.

Inside, the Kia Sorento will get a black-and-beige-themed cabin. It will feature the new Kia steering wheel, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a coloured head-up display, a wireless phone charger, remote engine start, ventilated seats, leatherette upholstery, electrically adjustable seats with a memory function, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch fully digital driver display. From the images, we can also see the 360-degree camera, while the SUV will also come with Level 2 ADAS features.

In the cabin, the SUV also gets rotary knobs on the centre console for multiple functions. As we already know, the Sorento will be a three-row SUV and will be offered in both 6- and 7-seater configurations.

Not just creature comforts, the Kia Sorento will be loaded with safety features such as disc brakes on all four wheels, 10 airbags, ABS, EBD, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist and many more.

The SUV will be offered in Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Imperial Blue, Red, Pewter Olive, Ivory Silver Gloss, Aurora Black Pearl and Matte Graphite shades.

Coming to the engine, the Sorento will be offered with a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a strong-hybrid system. The powertrain will generate around 238 hp and 380 Nm and will be paired with an automatic transmission. The hybrid technology is expected to be offered in both FWD and AWD versions.

The diesel version of the Sorento uses a 2.2-litre turbocharged engine generating 202 bhp and 440 Nm of peak torque. Both petrol and diesel engine options are likely to be offered with automatic transmissions, probably using a DCT gearbox. The Kia Sorento is likely to be launched at a starting price slightly below Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom.
