Kiara Advani opens up about ‘grey’ relationships in Yash’s ‘Toxic’
While fans are waiting for the action and spectacle of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Upsactor Kiara Advani says the film left a much deeper impact on her personally.
Speaking to Bombay Timesthe 34-year-old actor shared that her role as Nadia changed the way she looks at relationships and the dynamic between men and women.
The Shershaah actress said, “With Toxic, I think it completely changes the way you see the man-woman dynamic.
And in fact, even for me, when Geetu Mohandas narrated the script to me, it took a while for me to understand that okay, this is also normal. It may be grey, it may be not in your conventional space, but there’s a certain liberation in love.”
The War 2 said the character stayed with her long after the narration. She described Nadia as emotionally detached yet free in her own way, adding that she herself wished she could think like that at times.
The actor also opened up about the challenges during filming. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film was shot in both English and Kannada.
Kiara explained that scenes were first completed in English before being performed again in Kannada, which required her to memorise dialogues overnight as the language was unfamiliar to her.
The action thriller stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.
The film’s release has been delayed as the makers focus on global distribution plans after its showcase at CinemaCon earlier this year.
