During the second session in the Galle Test match, K.L. Rahul was seen in distress due to cramping problem in both arms and legs. When Rahul returned to the dressing room after the second session of play, he was trying to fix it with the help of a physio. But when he was preparing to go out to bat for the last session, he found himself in a lot of trouble due to unbearable stiffness/stretching problems in his arms and legs. After this, Rahul decided to go back to the dressing room, due to which captain Shubman Gill came out to bat.

K.L. By the time Rahul was ‘retired hurt’, he had scored 77 runs off 162 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. In this way, all eyes are fixed on whether he will come on the field to bat in this innings or not.
Captain Shubman Gill disappointed
Captain Shubman Gill, who stepped in to bat after Rahul’s retirement hurt, was hoping for a big innings on a batting-friendly goal test pitch. He also started well, but lost his wicket trying to play a big shot off Prabhat Jayasuriya at a personal score of 16. Gill also hit 2 fours in his innings. This series is crucial for Team India to stay in the race to reach the final of the World Test Championship (WTC).
