Klaasen’s masterclass after head, SRH thrash Mumbai Indians at home

The 41st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 was played between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday (April 29). This match was high-scoring, in which SRH won by 6 wickets. MI, after winning the toss and batting first, scored 243 runs at the loss of 5 wickets with the help of an explosive century by Ryan Rickleton (123 not out), which SRH easily achieved by losing 4 wickets in 18.4 overs.

For SRH, Abhishek Sharma scored 45 runs in 24 balls, while Travis Head scored 76 runs in 30 balls. Abhishek-Head’s explosive partnership

Abhishek and Head gave SRH a flying start in the big run chase. Both scored 92 runs in the powerplay. He continued batting aggressively even after the field opened and made a stormy partnership of 129 runs in 8.4 overs. AM Ghazanfar gave the first blow to SRH in the form of Abhishek. Ghazanfar then made MI’s comeback by clean bowling Ishan Kishan on the very next ball. SRH had not even recovered from this double blow when Trent Boult dismissed Head in the next over. Within no time, SRH’s score went from 129/0 to 133/3. MI had a golden opportunity to take control of the match from here but Klaasen and Nitish Reddy put them on the backfoot by making an 80-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Even though Nitish scored 20 runs in 17 balls, he spent time on the wicket in difficult times, due to which Klaasen played his shots freely. After Nitish’s dismissal, Klaasen and Salil Arora added 36 runs in 14 balls to give SRH a one-sided victory. This was SRH’s fifth consecutive win. She has reached third place in the table with 12 points in 9 matches.

Rickleton’s century turned upside down

Coming to bat first, MI got a good start from the opening pair of Will Jacques and Rickleton. Both of them made a partnership of 93 runs in 7.1 overs for the first wicket. Will Jacques (46) was caught behind the wicket by Nitish on the very first ball of his spell. Suryakumar Yadav once again flopped. He scored 5 runs playing 5 balls. After his departure, Naman Dheer, who came to the crease, also could not walk and scored only 22 runs in 17 balls. However, Rickleton was continuously playing big shots from one end.

He completed his century in 44 balls, which is the record for the fastest century for Mumbai Indians. Captain Hardik Pandya supported him well by playing an inning of 31 runs in 15 balls. Rickleton remained unbeaten till the end and played an unbeaten inning of 123 runs with the help of 10 fours and 8 sixes in 55 balls, taking MI to its third highest score but this also proved to be insufficient.
