Kolkata Warehouse Collapse News Marathi : Taratala in West Kolkata Police The roof of a warehouse under construction on Transport Depot Road near Brace Bridge in Thane limits suddenly collapsed around 12 noon on Wednesday (June 24, 2026), leaving many workers feared trapped under the debris. Teams of Kolkata Police officers, Disaster Management Group (DMG), Civil Defense Force and Fire Brigade immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue and relief operations. So far four people have been evacuated safely.
According to the administrative officials who were present at the spot, the construction work was going on on Transport Depot Road near Brace Bridge in Taratala area. On Wednesday afternoon, while workers were working as usual, a large section of the roof suddenly collapsed. Panic spread everywhere due to this huge debris.

A Kolkata Police official said that four people have been evacuated so far. Police said teams of Kolkata Police, Disaster Management Group, Civil Defense Force, Fire and Emergency Services are engaged in continuous rescue operations at the spot. Indian Army personnel are also helping in the relief work. Heavy cranes and other machinery are being used to remove the collapsed iron beams and debris, while cranes and heavy lifting machinery were deployed to remove the collapsed iron beams.

A Kolkata Police official said that so far 10 people have been safely pulled out from under the rubble. All of them have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. A fire brigade official alleged that substandard materials were used in the construction of the godown. Meanwhile, local residents have complained that large-scale illegal construction has been going on in the area for some time now.
