Kranti Gaur admitted his crime in front of the match referee, after which there was no need for a formal hearing. According to ICC, this is his first demerit point in the last 24 months.

The controversy occurred in the early overs of the final. Kranti Gaur dismissed Sri Lankan batsman Imesha Dulani. After taking the wicket, the Indian bowler aggressively signaled the batsman to go towards the pavilion.
The ICC considered this behavior a violation of the rules. Kranti Gaur was found guilty of a Level 1 offense under Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct. Under this rule, action is taken against abusive or provocative words, reactions or gestures towards the out batsman. Under the rules, he has been fined 10 percent of the match fee and given one demerit point.

India won the final by 72 runs
Amidst the controversy, the result of the match was completely in favor of India. In the final played in Dubai, the Indian team won the Women's Asia Cup title by defeating Sri Lanka by 72 runs. Batting first, India scored a strong score of 183 runs. Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana played important roles in the team's innings by scoring half-centuries.
The Sri Lankan team, which came to chase the target, could not stand against the Indian bowlers and was all out for 111 runs. For India, Deepti Sharma took four wickets, while Sri Charani got three wickets. With this victory, the Indian women's team won the Asia Cup title for a record eighth time.
