Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart – Hridayam: On the occasion of Janmashtami, a big initiative related to Indian cinema and culture has come to light. The Art of Living's World Forum for Art and Culture (WFAC) and producer Dr. Sajan Raj Kurup's Creativeland Studios have partnered to take the 'Krishnavataram' trilogy global. This collaboration was formalized in the presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
'Krishnavataram: Part 1 – Hridayam' is the first film of the trilogy. Based on the life and divine journey of Lord Krishna, this film received a good response from the audience after its release in India. Now the producers are eyeing the international audience. Preparations have begun to take the film to the Indian diaspora and other audiences across the world.
Global release will be in four languages
As part of the partnership, there are plans to take the film on a huge global theatrical tour. 'Krishnavataram' will reach international audiences in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English. The makers say the aim is not just to release the film overseas, but to give a wider global platform to the story of Krishna, Indian art and cultural heritage.
Instead of limiting this project to films, many other mediums related to it will also be developed. These include cinema, series, music, live experiences, games, education and immersive cultural experiences.
Received blessings from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
The journey of the film has received the support and guidance of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the founder of Art of Living. Inspired by the film, Gurudev has come forward as a guide for producer Dr. Sajan Raj Kurup and Creativeland. This agreement between WFAC and Creativeland is being considered an important step towards the global presentation of the film and taking the trilogy forward at the international level.
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said, “Krishna means – the most attractive soul. It is the divinity that attracts the most; the energy that draws everything towards itself. When you realize that your life and this whole world is just a play, then Krishna is born within you.”
Producer said – aim is to take Indian culture to the world
Producer Dr. Sajan Raj Kurup said that Gurudev's blessings hold special significance for this project. According to him, efforts are being made to present Indian culture and cultural beliefs to the world through 'Krishnavataram'.
He said, “With the blessings of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who has taken over the entire world with his grace and changed the lives of millions of people, this film finds its rightful place at the feet of Gurudev. With Krishna Avataram, we feel proud to take every part of Indian culture to the world and put forward our cultural values.”
Kurup said his vision is to turn 'Krishnavataram' into a global cultural movement that celebrates cinema, art and Indian heritage.
WFAC's role is also important
WFAC, established in September 2020 under the Art of Living, is a global cultural wing. It is inspired by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's vision of 'One World Family' i.e. 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'. Its aim is to bring together artists, performers and art lovers from across the world on one platform.
Now preparations are being made to take this thinking forward on a larger scale through 'Krishnavataram'. According to the producers, this initiative is a step towards taking the story of Krishna to the new generation and audiences across the world through modern mediums. This journey that started with 'Hridayam' is now moving beyond the film to taking the form of a comprehensive global cultural campaign related to Indian cinema, art and heritage.
