European bike brand 'KTM' (owned by Bajaj Auto) is working on a new middleweight motorcycle range for the Indian market. The entire series will be launched with a new 490cc twin-cylinder engine. The segment will comprise of three flagship models namely 490 Adventure, 490 Duke and RC 490. All these models will be powered by a parallel-twin engine, which is being developed in collaboration with Bajaj Auto.
1. KTM 490 Adventure
The 490 Adventure model is likely to be the first to hit the market, as its prototype has been caught on camera several times during testing. According to the photos received, the bike is in the final stages of work and could be available for sale by mid-2027.
Design and Features: It will get a larger fuel tank, taller windscreen, upright seating design and dual-purpose tyres.
Hardware: The adventure bike is likely to get a 21-inch wheel setup at the front and 17-inch at the rear. Suspension will feature WP-sourced long-travel USD front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. For braking, both wheels will be offered with discs and switchable dual-channel ABS (for off-roading).

2. KTM 490 Duke
The KTM 490 Duke will be a naked streetfighter model like the other bikes in the Dukes series. As per the photos spotted during overseas testing, this bike will be larger in size than the current Duke 390.
Design and Features: It will get signature LED headlight unit, new LED tail-lamp cluster with integrated blinkers and side-swept exhaust pipe.
Features: The bike will get premium features like TFT instrument cluster, riding modes, switchable traction control, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, quickshifter, turn-by-turn navigation, cornering ABS and launch control.
Power: The new parallel-twin engine can produce power around 50 to 60 bhp.

3. KTM RC 490
KTM has officially confirmed that both the RC 490 and the larger RC 790 sportsbikes are currently under development.
Features: As per the photos spotted during testing, the fully-faired sportsbike will feature features like LED project headlamps, alloy wheels, LED DRLs, larger front disc brakes and USD front suspension.
Engine: It will also use the same 490cc engine from the 490 Duke and 490 Adventure.
