When uncontrollable fans surrounded Apara Mehta, burnt her with cigarette because mother-in-law was also daughter-in-law, Savita revealed many secrets

Actress Apara Mehta, who made her place in people’s hearts with the character of Savita Virani in the TV show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, recently told in an interview that at one time people started liking her so much that the crowd took her home and during this time one of them gave her a cigarette.

Apara said, “Because… it was at its peak at that time and my Gujarati drama was in Kolkata, there were 5 shows in Kala Mandir. Seat to seat were packed. As soon as I entered, 8000 Dandiyas jumped in the air on seeing me and a crowd gathered to see me.” He further said that he dragged me to the podium. People were pulling and pushing me.

When I started shaking hands with them, someone was pulling my diamond finger, someone lit a cigarette on me and the whole podium started shaking. People went crazy. It became very dangerous. Then they asked me to get down from the podium, formed a circle around me and at that time, everyone touched me everywhere. I said okay, you can touch, but what will you get?

The show was a huge hit and ran for eight years, now it’s back with a reboot, starring Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay in the lead roles. The show airs on Star Plus every Monday to Sunday at 10.30 pm.

Recently, in an interview given to Hotterfly, Apara Mehta also told the painful story of her broken relationship with senior actor and her husband Darshan Jariwala and their separation for two decades. Recalling that moment, Apara Mehta said that when this incident happened, she was in the USA for her work. The same day was the wedding anniversary of her and Darshan Jariwala. Apra said, I was in America and it was our anniversary. I called Darshan, but he said in a very strange tone that ‘we have to talk very important’. At that time I could not understand what he wanted to talk about.

She said, I came back to India after finishing my show. I boarded the flight at 3 am, reached home at 5 am and then had a TV show shift at 7 am. As soon as he reached home, Darshan Jariwala was sitting on a swing holding a cup of morning tea in his hand.

When I reached there, he just said, Apara, I think we should separate now because I have lost love for you. I don’t like you anymore and you are the ugliest woman in my life. Both of them have a daughter named Khushhali. Apart from Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Apara has also appeared in serials like Jamnai Raja, Hamari Devrani, Anupama etc.
