Labour Asians Society wins Labour Friends Group of the Year Award 2026 for third time

Labour Asians Society has been honoured with the prestigious Labour Friends Group of the Year Award 2026 at the 9th SME Labour Awards, held in Central London last week.

The award recognises the organisation’s continued community engagement, support for social initiatives, and efforts to encourage wider participation in public and community life.

This marks the third time Labour Asians Society has received the Labour Friends Group of the Year Award, highlighting its sustained contribution to bringing together communities from diverse backgrounds and promoting civic engagement across Britain.

Over the years, Labour Asians Society has organised a wide range of activities, including community events, policy discussions, fundraising campaigns, cultural programmes, youth engagement projects, women’s empowerment initiatives, and networking opportunities.

The organisation says its mission is to strengthen relationships between communities, promote equality and inclusion, and create greater opportunities for people to participate positively in society.

Speaking after receiving the award, a spokesperson for Labour Asians Society said:

The spokesperson added that the organisation would continue supporting communities, encouraging participation in public life, and creating opportunities for future generations through partnership and community service.

Labour Asians Society also thanked the organisers of the 9th SME Labour Awards for recognising the contribution of community organisations and volunteers working to make a positive difference.

The organisation emphasised that its work goes beyond political engagement, with a focus on charitable initiatives, cultural understanding, youth leadership, women’s empowerment, and collaboration with community groups to address local challenges.

Looking ahead, Labour Asians Society said it plans to expand its programmes, build stronger partnerships, and continue creating platforms for dialogue, cooperation and community development across the United Kingdom.
