Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson left the stadium in a protective boot on his left ankle following Sunday’s 24- 18 win over the Tennessee Titans, raising fresh questions about his availability for Baltimore’s Week 5 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
Jackson suffered the injury late in the second quarter after Titans defensive lineman Jermaine Johnson II sacked him.
The Ravens initially listed Jackson as questionable to return, but he did not play after halftime, with Tyler Huntley taking over at quarterback.
Jackson was having an outstanding first half before the injury. He completed 15 of 20 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns and added 20 rushing yards on two carries as Baltimore built a 24- 7 halftime lead.
What Happened To Lamar Jackson?
The injury occurred on one of the final plays of the first half. Johnson brought Jackson down on a sack, after which the Ravens quarterback was seen dealing with discomfort and did not return for the second half.
Baltimore officially identified the issue as an ankle injury. Jackson remained in uniform on the sideline, but Huntley took every Ravens snap after halftime.
The Ravens ultimately held on for a 24- 18 victory, improving to 3- 1 on the season. However, the win came with several injury concerns, with Jackson, Marlon Humphrey, Durham Smythe and Andrew Vorhees all leaving the game.
Latest Lamar Jackson Injury Update
The most recent development is that Jackson was seen leaving the stadium wearing a protective boot on his left foot, according to reporting cited by The Baltimore Banner’s Brian Wacker. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has reported that Jackson is considered day to day.
At this point, there is no confirmed diagnosis or official timetable for Jackson’s return.
That distinction matters. Wearing a protective boot indicates that Baltimore is taking the ankle issue seriously, but the boot alone does not establish the severity of the injury or mean Jackson will miss a specific number of games.
Ravens head coach Jesse Minter also did not provide a definitive diagnosis after the game. The team is expected to evaluate Jackson further during the week.
Tyler Huntley Steps In For Lamar Jackson
Huntley handled quarterback duties for the entire second half and helped Baltimore protect its lead.
He completed 8 of 9 passes for 63 yards and added 16 rushing yards. The Ravens did not score after halftime, but their defense made enough plays to prevent Tennessee from completing the comeback.
That performance also gives Baltimore some insurance if Jackson needs to miss practice time.
Still, there is no question that the Ravens offense is significantly different without Jackson. His ability to extend plays and create yards as a runner is central to Baltimore’s offensive identity.
Will Lamar Jackson Play In Week 5?
There is no official answer yet.
Baltimore travels to face the Atlanta Falcons on October 11, giving Jackson several days to undergo further evaluation and see how the ankle responds.
For now, the most accurate status is day-to-day with an ankle injury.
The Ravens will have to monitor Jackson’s practice participation throughout the week before making a decision on his availability.
For Baltimore, the immediate priority is getting a clearer medical picture rather than putting a timetable on the injury.
Jackson’s status will be one of the biggest NFL injury storylines heading into Week 5.
