Patna. The Revenue and Land Reforms Department has started a new initiative to correct land related records in Bihar. Department Secretary Jai Singh has directed the gathering of deceased ryots to register the names of their heirs. All revenue employees have been asked to dispose of at least 5 such cases every month in their circles.
Erroneous assembly will also be corrected
The department has directed to run a campaign by identifying incorrect or incomplete land records. Officials have been asked to ensure that cases are not kept unnecessarily pending in order to keep the revenue records updated and error free.
Work will not stop due to absence of Raiyat in Mapi
There are no instructions to stop the process even if the tenant is not present on the fixed date of land measurement. Along with giving information about the date of measurement to the tenant personally and through mobile, it will also be displayed on the notice board of the Panchayat building and the zonal office.
Online monitoring of encroachment cases
Pending encroachment suits have been directed to be conducted online through the Revenue Court Management System (RCMS). The objective of the department is to expedite the disposal of land records and revenue matters. This is expected to provide convenience to the tenants in getting their land related documents corrected.
