Ingredients for Banana Malpua:
Two bananas, one cup wheat flour, two teaspoons sugar, two small cardamom powder, one teaspoon fennel, milk, a pinch of saffron
Method of making Banana Malpua
-
- Step 1: To make Banana Malpua, first take ripe bananas. You can use two bananas. In a large bowl, mash them well with a masher. The bananas should form a smooth paste.
-
- Step 2: Now, combine one cup of wheat flour, two tablespoons of semolina, two teaspoons of sugar, cardamom powder, and coarsely ground fennel seeds in a bowl and mix well. Slowly add the milk and mix well to form a smooth batter. Ensure there are no lumps in the batter. Cover and let it rest for fifteen minutes to set.
-
- Step 3: Now prepare the syrup. Add one cup of water and one cup of sugar to a large pot. When the water begins to boil, add saffron and cardamom. Cook for five minutes. Remember not to thicken the syrup completely; it should just be slightly sticky. Once it’s ready, turn off the heat.
-
- Step 4: Now, pour ghee into a pan and heat it. Stir the batter once more. When the batter is poured evenly into the ghee, it will spread on its own. Cook the puri over medium heat until it turns brown on both sides. Your puri is ready. When you feel like eating it, dip it in sugar syrup and serve.
