Legal relief to Angelina Jolie: ‘Château Miraval’ in controversy..
The ongoing legal dispute between Hollywood’s famous former couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has reached a new turn. The Los Angeles court has ruled in favor of Angelina Jolie in the case related to France’s famous winery Château Miraval.
Entertainment News: The ongoing legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is once again in the headlines. The dispute concerns his stake in the French winery Château Miraval. According to the latest information, Los Angeles Superior Court has given relief to Angelina Jolie in this case. The court rejected Brad Pitt’s petition, in which he sought access to Jolie’s private emails and documents related to the stake sale.
This dispute has been going on ever since differences emerged between the two regarding property and business sharing. This decision of the court is currently being considered in favor of Angelina Jolie, although the case is not completely over yet.
Important decision of the court: Jolie gets relief
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has rejected Brad Pitt’s petition seeking access to Angelina Jolie’s private emails and documents. These emails were related to the sale of his stake in the winery in 2021. The court held that Brad Pitt failed to prove that the documents sought could be provided as required and lawfully as per his demand. According to the court, these documents legally fall under the category of “privileged communication” i.e. confidential.
Jolie’s lawyer Paul Murphy called the verdict a “significant victory” for her. He said the court had made it clear that the demand for access to private and legally protected documents was not justified. According to the legal team, Brad Pitt initially wanted access to 126 documents, but the number was later reduced to 22. He did not receive any documents after the final decision of the court.
The bone of contention: Château Miraval Winery
The entire controversy is over the stake in France’s famous winery Château Miraval, which the two had jointly purchased during their marriage. Brad Pitt alleges Angelina Jolie sold her stake in 2021 without his consent, in violation of an earlier agreement. According to Pitt, the deal was made to Tenute del Mondo, the wine division of Stoli Group.
Angelina Jolie says that she did not violate any binding agreement and the sale was completely legal. This legal case began in 2022 when Brad Pitt filed a lawsuit in court. They claimed that they were kept out of the sale process and this was a violation of their rights.
In response, Jolie accused Pitt of filing a “retaliatory lawsuit” and said the case was motivated by a personal dispute, not just a business disagreement.
Controversy regarding emails and documents
Brad Pitt’s legal team specifically sought emails related to Jolie’s business manager, financial advisors and publicists. He claimed that these documents would make it clear what were the reasons behind the sale. However, the Jolie side argued that all these emails are part of their legal strategy and cannot be made public.
According to experts, this decision is not just a celebrity controversy, but it also strengthens the legal principles related to corporate and personal privacy.
