Legally Blonde Prequel Elle Gets First Footage in Prime Video Trailer
Prime Video released a trailer previewing several upcoming movies and TV shows, including the Legally Blonde prequel, Elle.
Prime Video’s Obsession is in Session trailer features a first look at Elle Woods, the iconic character from Legally Blonde. The series is a prequel to 2001’s Legally Blonde, which starred Reese Witherspoon as Elle.

Prime Video’s Elle will follow the titular character’s high school journey before she goes to Harvard. Stepping into the role of Elle is Lexi Minetree, who is seen sporting a pink bathing suit by the pool. Other shots from the series include Elle’s chihuahua, Bruiser Woods, and a clip of Elle in her high school’s hallway.
“In Season 1, Elle follows Elle Woods in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film,” Prime Video’s synopsis reads.
June Diane Raphael plays Elle’s mother, Eva, while Tom Everett Scott depicts Elle’s father, Wyatt. Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney, and Zac Looker also star.
Recurring cast members include Jessica Belkin, Logan Shroyer, Amy Pietz, Matt Ober, Chloe Wepper, David Burtka, Brad Harder, Kayla Maisonet, Lisa Yamada, and the late James Van Der Beek.
Laura Kittrell created Elle and will co-showrun and executive produce alongside Caroline Dries. Additional executive producers include Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Marc Platt, and Amanda Brown. EP Jason Moore will direct the first two episodes.
Elle premieres on July 1 on Prime Video. The show has already been renewed for Season 2.
As for the rest of the trailer, Prime Video featured its upcoming slate of movies and shows geared toward young adults. This includes Maxton Hall, Clashing Through The Snow, Off Campus, Every Year After, Your Fault: London, and The Love Hypothesis.
