- A match between both teams
- Messi in the lead for the Golden Boot
- Messi's magic of late
A superb assist and late goal from Lionel Messi led Inter Miami to a resounding 2-1 win over the New England Revolution. With this victory, we have secured our place in next year's CONCACAF Champions Football Cup.
The win moves Miami to the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference ahead of the MLS Cup playoffs. This season, Messi has 26 goals and 16 assists so far. An assist is to assist your partner in scoring a goal. Along with this, he has reached the front in the race to win the MLS MVP award for the third time in a row and the 'Golden Boot' for the second time in a row.
A match between both teams
Till the first 45 minutes, both the teams witnessed a close match. Neither team could score until half time. Inter Miami had a good chance during this period in the 28th minute, when Mexican player Berterame fired a left-footed shot from the left side of the box, which was saved by New England goalkeeper Matt Turner.
In the 53rd minute of the second half, the host team (New England) opened the account on the strength of Daniel Gazdag's goal. In the 69th minute, Inter Miami tied the score at 1-1 with a great team performance. Segovia delivered a 'lob' pass inside the box, which Messi headed towards Bertrame.
Berterame hit a powerful header towards the box and sent the ball into the goal post. It was Bertrame's 10th goal of the current season, while Messi's 16th assist in the league remains the league record.
