Campbell Remains Hospitalized for Neck Evaluation

Detroit Lions All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell stayed overnight at a hospital Sunday for continued evaluation and monitoring after suffering a neck injury against the Minnesota Vikings.

Campbell was injured early in the fourth quarter of Detroit’s 19-15 victory. The Lions said he was alert and breathing when taken to the hospital.

“We’re thinking about him,” coach Dan Campbell said.

Medical Personnel Immobilize Linebacker on Field

Jack Campbell remained face down and motionless on the turf after making his third tackle of the game on Minnesota tight end T.J. Hockenson.

Medical personnel evaluated him before securing him to a backboard and carefully lifting him onto a cart as spectators applauded.

Detroit’s entire team and most of its coaching staff surrounded the cart before Campbell was transported off the field for further evaluation.

All-Pro Linebacker Signed Extension Through 2030

The Lions selected Campbell, a former Iowa standout, with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

He earned All-Pro recognition last season after becoming the first NFL player in seven years to record more than 150 tackles, at least five sacks and three forced fumbles in a season.

Detroit signed him in May to a four-year contract extension that runs through 2030.
