Spanish World Cup winner Victor Munoz spared the blushes for Liverpool with a late equaliser as the Reds drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest in their Premier League match at Anfield here on Saturday.
Dan Ndoye opened the scoring for Forest in the 24th minute as Oliver Glasner looked to turn the tide of his new side, having lost the opening league-fixture 0-1 to Leeds United.
Liverpool tried to find a way back through Florian Wirtz, but his goal was disallowed after Jeremie Frimpong was found in an off-side position. The Reds, however, equalised after the break when Cody Gakpo set up Alexander Isak at the hour mark.
Forest’s new signing Liam Delap got into the thick of things soon after as he sent in a quick throw-in to Neco Williams, who was then bundled by Alisson in the box. Morgan Gibbs-White sent the Brazilian goalie to the other side to get Forest back on top.
Just when the match looked to be slipping away from the home side, Munoz received a pass from Wirtz and, after a gorgeous turn, found the net to help his side claw back into level terms.
