Lock Upp 2: Harshad Chopra and Shivangi Joshi trend online as fans compare them to Kabir Singh and Preeti

The latest episode of Cover Up 2 has taken social media by storm, with Harshad Chopra’s intense reaction following Shreya Kalra and Shivangi Joshi‘s argument becoming one of the most talked-about moments from the reality show. While some viewers praised Harshad for standing up for Shivangiothers compared his body language and protectiveness to Shahid Kapoor’s iconic character Kabir Singh, sparking a heated online debate.

The promo shows Shivangi breaking down after her emotional confrontation with Shreya Kalra over the latter’s health and medication. After the argument, Shivangi is seen crying as she confides in Harshad, telling him she only wanted to share her feelings and had no intention of creating another fight.

Listening to Shivangi’s side of the story, Harshad becomes visibly furious and attempts to confront Shreya. Shivangi repeatedly stops him, even saying, “I swear on you,” asking him not to react impulsively. Although Harshad assures her he only wants to talk, his anger continues to escalate, and the promo ends with him making strong remarks against Shreya, leaving viewers shocked.

A large section of fans began comparing Harshad’s protective behaviour and intense body language to Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singhwhile Shivangi was likened to Preetimaking the pair trend across social media.

One fan came out in support of the actor, writing, “Harshad Chopra doesn’t need to become Kabir Singh. Being Harshad Chopra is enough.” Another user, however, disagreed, commenting, “Why is Harshad Chopra acting like he’s still on a TV set? This is a reality show, not a film where you’re Kabir Singh and Shivangi Joshi is Preeti.”

Several other users also criticised Harshad’s aggressive approach. One viral post referred to him as a “budget Kabir Singh,” while another pointed out the irony of the actor advising fellow contestants to stay calm in earlier episodes but reacting so intensely during his own confrontation with Shreya.

At the same time, social media has also been flooded with fan edits portraying Harshad and Shivangi’s bond in a positive light. Several reels have described Harshad as a protective friend, while others have romantically compared the duo to Kabir Singh and Preeti, calling their bond “cute” and “heartwarming.”

While one section of viewers believes Harshad simply stood up for a friend who was in tears, another feels his aggressive response overshadowed the actual issue.
