As the earth ages, the reserves of natural energy are diminishing. As a result, India is leaning towards non-conventional energy as a conscious state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Uzbekistan is particularly significant in this situation. A long-term agreement has been signed with the Middle Eastern country on the supply of uranium. This is expected to speed up India's nuclear power generation project. Modi announced the important agreement in a social media post after a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
“We will develop a long-term system for the supply of uranium.” Modi said in a post after the meeting. He also said, that was not the only issue on the agenda. India and Uzbekistan are also finalizing three 'sister-city' and 'sister-state' agreements. Modi gave the message that the proposal of the two heads of state should not become just a pile of signed papers. He called for a specific action plan. So that the benefits of the partnership between the two countries can be realized.

The issue of city development also came up in Modi-Shavakat talks. Uzbekistan is currently building the 'New Tashkent'. Which is being built as a brand new city. Modi cited Gujarat's 'Gift City' as an example to emulate. He offered to come to India to present the process of planning, technology and implementation of this project to the delegation of Uzbekistan.
On the other hand, Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted several significant facts. He called India a “reliable strategic partner”. Said that last year, bilateral trade crossed the milestone of 100 crore (1 billion) dollars for the first time. Also, the number of India-Uzbekistan joint ventures has also increased seven times compared to earlier.
It is to be noted that the country's highest state honor was given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Uzbekistan. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev himself conferred 'Oli Darazhali Dustalik' on Modi. This is the 36th international honor of the Prime Minister of India. Modi is proud to be honored.
