Such a shocking case has come to light before the police in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. Where cyber crime police have come to know that some accused had defrauded Rs 1.64 crore through digital arrest. When the police came to know about this fraud, they went to the victim’s house to save him. The victim mistook the real police for fake police and did not allow them to enter the house. Mumbai Police is busy searching for the accused of fraud.
According to cyber police, the accused made a 75-year-old elderly man living near Grant Road, Mumbai their victim. The accused posed as fake police and called them on WhatsApp. After this, a total of Rs 1.64 crore was transferred to different accounts in the name of digital arrest.

How was the fraud detected?
A team of Mumbai Cyber Police came to know that for the last few months, a person was transferring money to accounts which were already frozen. Based on this clue the police investigated. Investigation revealed that Rs 1.64 crore was defrauded from the elderly through digital arrest. According to the police, the old man had transferred money to several accounts from June 8 to July 25.
Police investigation revealed that two accused had defrauded the elderly man by posing as officers of Pune ATS. They told their names as Shrikant Kumar and Ashok Kumar. After this the accused showed the fake identity cards to the old man, which made him believe that they were real police officers. Both the accused blackmailed the elderly man on the basis of fake identity.

Considered real police as fake
As soon as the police got information about this fraud, three policemen reached the old man’s house to inform him about the fraud. The old man considered the real police officers to be fake and refused to listen to them. The police tried to convince him several times but he did not agree and did not even open the door of the house.
After this, the police reached the old man’s house in civil dress along with another victim. Only when the victim told him the whole truth did the old man believe that he had been cheated. After this, the police officials started further investigation of the case, so that the accused can be arrested as soon as possible.
