Statement of Govt
In fact, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi recently said that petrol and diesel prices may increase in the near future. He said, “We are also saddened and sorry for the hike in gas cylinder prices. But before criticizing it, people should understand the current global situation. The whole world is facing many serious crises right now.”
He further explained, “The transportation and transportation of goods across the world is being affected. LPG is also now available from very few places. This has added pressure on supply and prices.”
The government cares about the common people
Union minister Pralhad Joshi added, “The cost of transport has gone up significantly. The basic cost of gas is also high. Moreover, it takes 40-45 days to transport goods from one place to another, which has increased the cost of insurance. We are equally concerned about the suffering of the common man, but in the current situation, it has become necessary to increase the price of gas.”
Recent price hikes
It may be noted that domestic gas cylinder rates have recently increased on Sunday, June 7. After a hike of ₹29 per cylinder, a 14.2 kg cylinder now costs ₹942 in Delhi. Earlier, the rates of commercial gas cylinders were also hiked, causing great concern among traders and food service providers.
