Luxury Electric SUV: Mercedes-Benz has revealed the third-generation GLA, introducing its all-electric version for the first time. The GLA EV is built on the MMA platform and is available in three trims: 250, 250+, and 350. It is powered by a 58kWh or 85kWh battery pack, with a claimed driving range of up to 657 km. An L mild-hybrid version with AWD will also be launched in 2027.
GLA EV Battery and Range
Internationally, the Mercedes-Benz GLA EV is available in three trims: 250, 250+, and 350. The GLA 250 is powered by a 58kWh LFP battery pack with a claimed range of 447 km at WLTP. The larger 250+ and 350 variants get a larger 85kWh NMC battery pack with a claimed range of up to 657 km. Mercedes-Benz will also introduce a 71kWh NMC battery option in early 2027.
Motor Power and Charging
The GLA 250 and 250+ feature a single electric motor mounted on the rear wheel. The former produces 224hp and 335Nm of torque, while the latter produces 272hp and 335Nm of torque. The more expensive model, the GLA 350, features a dual-motor setup with one motor on each axle, producing 354hp and 515Nm of torque.
Notably, this AWD version is the fastest, accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 210 kmph. Mercedes-Benz says that a 320 kW DC fast charger, powered by 800-watt technology, can add up to 270 km of range to the GLA EV in just 10 minutes.
ICE Versions and Engines
The third-generation GLA will arrive globally in petrol and diesel versions in 2027. Power will be from Mercedes-Benz’s new M 252 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a 48-watt mild hybrid system. This engine will be paired with an electrified 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, sending power to either the front or all four wheels.
Interior and Features
The Mercedes-Benz GLA gets an optional MBUX Superscreen triple-display setup. This includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch infotainment screen, and a 14-inch passenger display.

The standard version features a glass panel with an illuminated star pattern in front of the co-driver.
The cabin features an all-black theme with silver accents that provide a contrasting look on the center console and doors. Depending on the variant, the GLA EV comes with a choice of fabric or leatherette seats.
