Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit left host Amitabh Bachchan thoroughly impressed during her guest appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati, where she delivered a captivating performance to her classic song Kaahe Chhed Mohe.
Appearing on the show as part of a special series celebrating Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming birthday week, Dixit—who also hosts the Marathi adaptation Kon Honar Crorepati—joined the hot seat as a special contestant.
During the episode, Bachchan requested the computer to play the hit track from the 2002 period drama Devdas. Dressed in pink, Dixit seated on the hot seat effortlessly channelled her iconic character, Chandramukhi, using expressive facial emotions and classical hand gestures (adah).
Impressed by the impromptu recital, Bachchan walked around the set while applauding the actor. “Kya baat hai (Splendid). Incredible, incredible, Madhuri ji,” the host cheered alongside the studio audience.
Promoting the crossover episode on social media, Sony Entertainment Television shared a promo video captioned: “Madhuri ka andaaz, sabke liye khaas. Dekhiye Kaun Banega Crorepati, Mon-Fri raat 9 baje…”
(Note: While initial reports casually referenced her character as Paro, Dixit famously played the classic role of Chandramukhi in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’, opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Paro.)
The special episode filming comes amidst a demanding shoot schedule for the veteran actor. In a recent broadcast of KBC Season 18, Bachchan revealed to viewers that he had slipped and sustained a knee injury during filming the previous day, necessitating him to host while seated rather than delivering his usual standing monologue.
Additionally, Bachchan recently reflected on his hectic work routine in a personal blog post, writing about balancing late-night schedules with early morning call times.
