Mafia: The Omertà Collection has been revealed by PlayStation and 2K, and the latest collection features all the major titles from the Mafia franchise on PlayStation 5. The release date is scheduled for August 14, and it will feature four different games, spanning multiple eras of organized crime.
This information was made public through the official PlayStation social media accounts and included a small trailer featuring several recognizable characters and locations from the series. As can be seen from the announcement, this collection features Mafia: The Old Country Definitive EditionMafia: Definitive Edition, Mafia II: Definitive Edition, and Mafia III: Definitive Edition.
The release gives both longtime fans and new players an opportunity to experience the complete Mafia storyline through a single package.
Four Games, Four Different Eras of Organized Crime
One of the main selling points of Mafia: The Omertà Collection is the way in which this collection reflects the changes that occurred in the history of organized crime over time. The first game included in the collection is Mafia: The Old Country Definitive Edition. In this game, players will travel back to Sicily in the early 1900s, where they can see the origins of the crime organizations and the story of Enzo Favara, who joins the Torrisi crime organization.
In Mafia: Definitive Edition, players will be offered a remake version of the original 2002 game set during the Prohibition era where the main character, taxi driver Tommy Angelo, falls into the criminal world of Lost Heaven.
The next step in this collection is Mafia II: Definitive Edition, where players will be introduced to the story of Vito Scaletta, who rises through Empire Bay after the end of World War II. Mafia III: Definitive Edition shifts the setting to 1968 and follows Vietnam War veteran Lincoln Clay as he seeks revenge in New Bordeaux. Together, the four titles create a timeline that covers multiple generations of organized crime while showcasing how the series has evolved over the years.
Mafia: Definitive Edition Receives a Native PS5 Upgrade
This is not just an old bundle of previous games under a new name. The first thing worth noting is the availability of the native PlayStation 5 version of Mafia: Definitive Edition. The new version includes 60 FPS gaming as well as other technical updates aimed at technical improvements designed for current-generation hardware.

Those players who already have the PlayStation 4 version of Mafia: Definitive Edition will get the possibility to upgrade to the PS5 version for free. Although 2K hasn’t released a detailed list of every enhancement, reports indicate that the upgrade will deliver smoother gameplay, better overall performance, and improvements that go beyond backward compatibility. It is curious that such upgrades have not been announced for Mafia II and Mafia III, thus becoming the greatest technical upgrade in this release.
The Old Country Expands the Collection’s Value
Another significant addition is Mafia: The Old Country, which is the latest installment in the series.
Released in 2025, this game is the prequel of the entire series and brings the action back to Sicily. The Definitive Edition in the collection The Omertà also has the deluxe edition of the game along with the future release of the Man of Honor expansion.
The expansion brings two new story missions in which the characters involved are Enzo and Don Ennio Salieri. Moreover, there are some additional Free Ride missions and rewards available for the player. Including both the base game and expansion content makes the package more appealing for players who haven’t yet experienced the latest chapter in the series.

A Complete Package for New and Returning Players
Collection releases have become increasingly common in the gaming industry, but Mafia: The Omertà Collection stands out because of how much content it delivers.
While other collection games typically consist of just one remastered title, this particular compilation includes all the essential entries in the franchise along with modernization for one of the most popular installments in it.
For newcomers, it is the easiest way to discover all the eras of the Mafia saga from the very start until the very end. For existing fans, improved features on PS5 and the additional materials will give extra motivation to immerse into the well-known storyline.
With four games covering different periods, protagonists, and cities, Mafia: The Omertà Collection represents the most comprehensive version of the franchise available so far. As the collection arrives on August 14, PlayStation players will finally have the opportunity to experience every era of the Mafia saga in one place.
