Maharashtra: Car collides with truck on Samruddhi Highway in Amravati, 5 members of family killed
Amravati (Maharashtra), 28 June. A horrific accident took place on Sunday on Samruddhi Mahamarg (Expressway) in Dhamangaon Railway Taluka of Amravati district in Maharashtra, when five people of the same family died in a collision between a truck and a car. The deceased have been identified as Bhaskar Jeevane, Ramesh Jeevane, Lata Jeevane, Aarti Jeevane and 10-year-old Trisha Jeevane.
According to the information received, a speeding car going from Chandrapur district to Akola collided with the rear of a truck on Samriddhi Mahamarg. The collision was so strong that the front part of the car was shattered and the passengers sitting inside the car had no chance to escape. The victim’s family is a resident of Chandrapur district, who had left for Akola by car to attend an event.
Rescue team reached the spot
As soon as the news of the accident was received, police, highway safety squad and emergency service teams reached the spot. A rescue operation was conducted to remove the dead bodies from inside the car. After this, Panchnama of the dead bodies was conducted at the spot and sent for post-mortem. From the scene of the incident, it was revealed that the driver of the speeding car lost control, due to which the car collided directly with the rear of the truck.
