Material

  • Curd – 2 cups (thick)
  • Ripe mango – 1 cup (gar)
  • Sugar – ½ to ¾ cup (as per taste)
  • Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
  • Saffron – few sticks (optional)
  • Milk – 2 tbsp (for soaking the saffron)
  • Dry fruits (almonds, pistachios) – for decoration

  • First, tie the curd in a clean cloth and hang it for 5-6 hours or overnight, so that the water in it is completely drained and the chakka is formed.
  • On the other hand, soak some saffron sticks in a little warm milk.
  • Take the prepared jaggery in a bowl and beat it till it becomes very soft and smooth.
  • Now add mango pulp and sugar to it and mix well.
  • Then add cardamom powder and soaked saffron and mix again gently.
  • Keep the prepared ambrakhand in the fridge for 1-2 hours to cool.
  • At the end of serving, garnish with dry fruits on top.
