Taking the visionary storytelling forward, ace Bollywood producer Mahavir Jain has come forward to officially present the Kannada sci-fi social thriller Lambodar 2.0 under his banner Mahavir Jain Films. Directed by director Simple Suni, the film is set to hit theaters across the country in Kannada and Hindi languages on November 20, 2026.
This partnership between Simple Suni and Mahavir Jain was confirmed when the director shared photos with them, sharing everything from the vision of the film to its scale and making. Impressed by the film's new theme and the novel idea of using a real humanoid robot on the silver screen, Mahavir Jain wasted no time in extending his support to take the project across India, and also asked for a Hindi dub.
Talking about this exciting development related to the film, Director Simple Suni said – “We have made a high-concept science-fiction film, which depicts happiness, artificial intelligence and the impact of technology on human life. One of the most special features of the film is Jiya, who is a real humanoid robot and plays a character in the film. We believe that such an attempt has been made for the first time in Indian cinema. Mahavir Ji was very impressed with the concept and encouraged us to release the film in Hindi as well. We are glad that Mahavir Jain Films is presenting our film.”

The story of the film revolves around a technology-driven 'Happiness Challenge', for which huge rewards are promised. But it silently observes and shapes human emotions and actions. In a way, this story shows the world a mirror of today's biggest battle of social media validation, digital addiction, interference of AI and man's own thinking.
Taking a big technological step in the world of Indian cinema, the film will feature a robot, Jiya, who has been shaped by Bengaluru-based company Machani Robotics and is an advanced humanoid robot. Let us tell you that Jiya is not just a robot in the film but is an important character. He has also produced the story of this film written by Anil Shetty. Not only this, he is also making his debut as a lead in the film. Talking about the brilliant cast of the film, talented actors like Kunal Kapoor, Sachi Bindra, Meghna Gaonkar and Mac D'Souza will be seen sharing the screen with them. In the technical team of the film, Santosh Rai Pathaje has handled the responsibility of cinematography, while Veer Samarth has composed the tremendous music of the film.
