Mahindra SUV Sales Grow 14% in September 2026, Cross 3.58 Lakh Units in First Half of FY2027
Mahindra & Mahindra recorded strong growth in its SUV segment in September 2026, selling 64,092 utility vehicles in the domestic market. The company had sold 56,233 units in September 2025, registering a year-on-year growth of 14%.
Including domestic sales and exports, Mahindra sold a total of 1,14,874 vehicles in September 2026, marking an overall growth of 15%. The performance highlights continued demand for the company’s SUVs, supported by its expanding portfolio of new and updated models.
Mahindra SUV Sales Grow 20% in the First Half of FY2027
During the first six months of FY2027, from April to September 2026, Mahindra sold 3,58,142 utility vehicles in the domestic market. This represents a 20% increase compared with 2,97,570 units sold during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
The company sold 60,572 more SUVs during the first half of FY2027 than it did in the same period last year.
Mahindra also recorded growth in its light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment. Sales of LCVs weighing less than 2 tonnes reached 4,044 units in September, an increase of 19%. Meanwhile, sales of LCVs in the 2-tonne to 3.5-tonne category rose 13% to 26,376 units.
Three-Wheeler Sales Rise 26%, Exports Decline 7%
Mahindra’s three-wheeler segment also delivered strong growth in September 2026. The company sold 16,343 three-wheelers, including electric models, compared with 13,017 units in September 2025. This represents a year-on-year increase of 26%.
However, the company’s exports declined by 7% during September. Mahindra exported 4,019 vehicles, compared with 4,320 units in the same month last year.
Despite the monthly decline, exports performed strongly during the first half of FY2027. Between April and September 2026, Mahindra exported 30,031 vehicles, registering growth of 48% compared with the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
New SUVs and Electric Vehicles to Expand Mahindra’s Lineup
Mahindra is expected to expand its SUV portfolio with several upcoming models. These include a compact SUV inspired by the Vision S concept, the premium electric SUV BE 7, and a lifestyle pickup based on the Scorpio-N platform.
The upcoming models could strengthen Mahindra’s presence across different vehicle segments, including compact SUVs, premium electric vehicles and lifestyle pickups. With its existing SUV range and planned new launches, the company is preparing to compete further in India’s increasingly competitive SUV market.
