With the demand for SUVs steadily increasing in the Indian automobile market, Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up for a major production drive for the next few years. The company is rumored to have several important models in the pipeline like the updated 3-door Thar, an SUV on the new NU_IQ platform, the BE 07, the Vision T inspired electric off-roader and the Scorpio Lifestyler.
Which engine options will it come in??
One of the earliest models in the series could be an SUV based on the Vision S concept. Its launch in India is likely to happen in early 2027. This SUV can be positioned between the XUV3XO and the Scorpio N. Coming with a tall and powerful body design, this model is likely to get turbo petrol and diesel engine options and an electric variant can also be considered in the future.

Big changes happening in Thar too?
The popular 3-door Mahindra Thar is also expected to get a major update. The Thar Rocks design influence on the new version can be seen from the model seen during the testing. New lighting, modified bumpers and a more modern exterior could be offered. The cabin is likely to get a bigger touchscreen, new features and more premium equipment.
A large train of electric cars!
The BE 07 will play a key role in Mahindra's electric range. It is a larger electric SUV than the BE6 and is likely to be based on the INGLO Skateboard architecture. With a large battery pack, its range in actual use can exceed 500 km. It is also expected to get features like 3 separate 12.3-inch displays, Level 2 ADAS and bi-directional charging.

Additionally, an electric off-roader based on the Vision T concept could hit the market around 2028. It may feature a dual-motor setup for AWD and more emphasis on off-roading. On the other hand, the Scorpio Lifestyle is also likely to enter the market next year. Hence, it is clear that Mahindra is preparing to strengthen its SUV presence in all three segments i.e. petrol, diesel and electric.
