Major fire in Pharma City of Anakapalle, Andhra Pradesh, two workers killed, many injured

Anakapalle, June 23. A massive fire broke out on Tuesday in Dakshin Energy Industries located in Pharma City, Parawada in Anakapalle district of Andhra Pradesh. So far, two workers have been reported dead in this accident, while many other workers have been injured. It is feared that the death toll may increase. The incident took place at the premises of Dakshin Energy located at Parawada on the outskirts of the port city.

After the fire, there was chaos in the entire area. As soon as the information was received, police, fire and rescue teams reached the spot and relief and rescue operations were immediately started. Fire fighters are continuously trying to control the fire. At the same time, rescue operation is also being conducted to safely bring out the people trapped inside the factory. The employees injured in the accident have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Senior officials of police and fire department are present at the spot and are continuously monitoring the situation. According to initial information, normally 30 to 50 employees work in every shift in the factory. However, clear information is not yet available about how many people were present in the premises at the time of the fire and how many people were able to get out safely.

At present the cause of the fire has not been known. Officials say that the real situation will be known only after the fire is completely extinguished and the investigation of the premises is completed. The administration fears that some more workers may be trapped inside the factory, so the possibility of increasing the number of dead and injured cannot be ruled out. Relief and rescue operations are underway.
