Automobile Desk: Amidst the increasing demand for family cars in India's electric vehicle (EV) market, Vietnamese automobile manufacturer VinFast has taken a big step. The company has announced a direct cut in the prices of its popular 7-seater electric car VinFast VF MPV 7. This premium car can now be bought in the Indian market at a cheaper price of Rs 4.10 lakh than before. This new price structure of the company has been officially made effective from 4 November 2026.
As per the new rates implemented recently, the starting ex-showroom price of VinFast VF MPV 7 has now been reduced to Rs 20.39 lakh. Earlier, this model was being sold in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 24.90 lakh (ex-showroom). To attract customers during the festival season, the company is also offering a separate discount offer of Rs 40,780. However, this festive benefit will be subject to terms and conditions and will be considered separately from the new ex-showroom price of the car.
Talking about technical specifications and performance, a powerful battery pack of 60.13 kWh capacity has been used in VinFast VF MPV 7. The electric motor installed in the car is capable of generating maximum power of 201 bhp and peak torque of 280 Nm. It works on front-wheel drive (FWD) setup. According to the company's claims, in ARAI testing, this electric car is capable of giving a range of up to 517 kilometers once fully charged. The car's range may vary in actual conditions depending on driving style, traffic conditions and weather. The top speed of the car is set at 140 kilometers per hour and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in under 10 seconds.
To make charging easier during long journeys and daily use, it has been provided with DC fast charging facility of up to 80 kW. The battery of this MPV can be charged from 10 percent to 70 percent in just 30 minutes through a suitable fast charger. Apart from this, the option of standard AC charging is also provided for home use.
This MPV looks quite practical in terms of dimensions and cabin space. The overall length of the car is 4,740 mm, width is 1,872 mm and height is 1,734 mm, while its wheelbase is kept at 2,840 mm. With a 7-seating layout of 2+3+2, the car offers a boot space of 126 liters with all three rows in operation. When the rear seats are folded, this luggage space increases to 1,240 litres. To modernize the cabin inside, a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been included. This electric MPV has emerged as an affordable and spacious option for large families.
