Lucknow. The holy month of Saavan is now at its last stage. The last Monday of Sawan holds special religious significance for Shiva devotees. On this day devotees observe fast to seek the blessings of Lord Bholenath. During the fast, special care is taken to eat fruits to remain energetic throughout the day and to change the taste of the mouth. If you also want to make something sweet and special in this last Monday fast, then instead of market sweets, you can prepare pure and delicious fruit based sweets at home. Here are the recipes of two very easy and quick fruit sweets, which you can make instantly.

Fruity Makhana and Coconut Barfi

Both makhana and coconut are beneficial for health and their consumption during fasting is considered very auspicious.

necessary materials

Makhana (flower makhana) – 2 cups

Grated dry coconut – 1 cup

Milk – 1/2 liter

Sugar – 1/2 cup (as per taste)

Desi ghee – 2 spoons

Green cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp

Finely chopped cashews and almonds – 2 teaspoons

First of all, heat one spoon of desi ghee in a pan. Fry the Makhanas in this on low flame till they become slightly crisp. After the makhana cools down, grind them coarsely in a mixer.

Now add remaining ghee in the same pan and fry the grated coconut lightly for 1-2 minutes. After this, pour milk in the pan and let it boil. When the milk is reduced to half, add sugar to it. Now add ground makhana, roasted coconut and cardamom powder to it and keep stirring continuously. When this mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan and becomes thick, turn off the gas. Grease a plate with a little ghee and spread this mixture on it. Add chopped nuts on top and press.

When it cools down, cut it into your desired shape. Your delicious fruit barfi is ready.

Juicy and Creamy Sabudana Lapsi (Halwa)

Sabudana – 1 cup (soaked in water for 2 hours)

Sugar – 3/4 cup

Desi ghee – 3 spoons

Water – 2 cups

Saffron threads – 8-10 (soaked in milk)

Chopped nuts (cashew nuts, pistachios, almonds)

Heat desi ghee in a pan and add soaked sago in it. Fry it on low flame for 3-4 minutes until the color of sago starts becoming slightly transparent. Now add 2 cups of hot water to it and keep stirring continuously so that lumps do not form. When the sago absorbs all the water and is completely cooked, add sugar and saffron milk to it. Cook the mixture until the sugar dissolves well and the halwa gets a beautiful shine. Finally add chopped nuts and serve hot or cold. On the last Monday of Sawan, offer these pure and satvik sweets to Lord Shiva and enjoy the fast yourself.
