Makhana i.e. fox nuts is considered a superfood, which is rich in protein, fiber and calcium. The special thing is that it is very easy to make and in just 10 minutes you can prepare a tasty and healthy snack. Let us know its easy recipe.
- 2 cups makhana
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 1 tomato (finely chopped)
- 1 green chilli (chopped)
- 2 teaspoons green coriander (chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
- salt as per taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ghee or oil
How to make Makhana Chaat
Makhana Chaat is a tasty and healthy snack. To prepare this, first heat ghee or oil in a pan. Add makhana to it and fry on low flame for 4-5 minutes till it becomes crunchy. Take care that the makhana does not burn.
Now add finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies and green coriander in a bowl. This will add freshness and crunch to the chaat. Now add chaat masala, red chili powder, roasted cumin and salt and mix well. This step enhances the taste of chaat.
Now add the roasted makhana to this mixture and toss well, so that the spices get coated properly on each makhana. Finally add lemon juice on top and mix lightly. This adds sourness and freshness to the chaat.
