New Delhi. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s tenure as a member of Rajya Sabha ended on June 25. With the end of Kharge’s tenure as a Rajya Sabha member, the post of Leader of the Opposition also became vacant. Now Kharge’s second term as Rajya Sabha member has begun. Mallikarjun Kharge took oath as Rajya Sabha member on Monday.

Mallikarjun Kharge has been elected to the Upper House from Karnataka for the second consecutive time. Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath of membership to Mallikarjun Kharge. Mallikarjun Kharge took oath in Hindi. On this occasion, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, Leader of the House JP Nadda, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were also present. Along with taking the oath of Rajya Sabha membership, Mallikarjun Kharge was also re-elected as the leader of the opposition.
After taking oath, Mallikarjun Kharge has posted on social media platform He again described taking oath as a Rajya Sabha member and the responsibility as the leader of the opposition in the Upper House as a matter of pride.
I had the privilege of taking the oath of office as a Member of the Council of States, again. It is a matter of immense pride and responsibility to continue serving this August in the Upper House as the Leader of the Opposition.
