The investigation into the horrific fire incident at Flourish Stay B&B in Malviya Nagar, Delhi has now reached a crucial point. At the same time, the main accused Jai Mishra, who is absconding in the case, has surrendered in Saket court.
The pace of investigation will increase after surrender
Investigation has revealed that the license of the hotel was taken in the name of Jai Mishra and he had an important role in the day-to-day running of the hotel. Hotel owner and cook already arrested
Police have already arrested hotel owner Lavkesh Bajaj in this case. A case has been registered against him under several serious sections including culpable homicide. Police allege that safety standards and rules were openly ignored during the operation of the hotel.
Apart from this, hotel cook Keshav Negi has also been detained. In the initial investigation, the police have suspected his alleged negligence to be the reason behind the fire. However, Keshav Negi has filed a bail petition in the court rejecting these allegations. He says that he is being deliberately made a scapegoat and the real cause of the fire was short circuit.

On June 3, at around 8:30 am, a sudden fire broke out in the five-storey Flourish Stay B&B located in Haujrani. Within a few minutes the flames engulfed the entire building. So far 22 people have died in this horrific accident, including 13 foreign nationals. The incident had shocked the country.
Ignoring the rules increased the scope of the accident?
During the investigation, it was shockingly revealed that the B&B had received permission to operate only six rooms, but 25 rooms were being operated in the premises. Many of these rooms were also built in the basement. Police are trying to find out whether these alleged irregularities made the accident more fatal.
Now IIT Delhi will tell why the fire spread so fast
Delhi Police has decided to approach IIT Delhi for technical and scientific investigation of the accident. The team of experts will thoroughly study the structure of the building, security arrangements and the spread pattern of the fire.
The main objective of the investigation will be to understand what were the structural flaws or circumstances due to which the fire spread to the entire building within a short time and people did not even get a chance to escape.
The case is registered under many serious sections
An FIR has been registered in this regard at Malviya Nagar police station under several serious sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). These include sections like culpable homicide, causing harm by fire or explosive substance, endangering life and safety and negligent handling of inflammable substances.
