MP Kakoli Ghosh’s claim – 20 TMC MPs wrote a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker and supported NDA.

New Delhi, June 8. After Mamata Banerjee snatched power from West Bengal, the internal crisis of Trinamool Congress (TMC) is deepening. In this sequence, on Monday, senior party MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar claimed that about 20 TMC MPs have decided to support the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre. He even said that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has also been informed about this decision.

TMC has 28 members in Lok Sabha and 12 in Rajya Sabha.

It is noteworthy that Trinamool has 28 members in the Lok Sabha while it has 12 members in the Rajya Sabha. Speaking to the media, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar claimed that a letter has already been sent to the Lok Sabha Speaker conveying the group’s willingness to support the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led coalition at the Centre.

Kakoli said, ‘About 20 Trinamool MPs, including myself, have written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to inform him of their decision to support the NDA.’ She claimed that she remains the party’s chief whip in the Lok Sabha.

The TMC MP said the decision was taken after consultation with fellow MPs. The development comes amid a growing internal crisis within the Mamata Banerjee-led party. Trinamool has seen open dissent and resignations by senior leaders in recent times.

Kakoli said the group has decided to politically align with the NDA. He argued that this reflects the public mandate. He said, ‘We have accepted the public’s decision and we believe that our future political path should be in line with that of the NDA.’ However, the Trinamool Congress leadership has not yet responded to these claims.

Many TMC leaders were seen at Bhupendra Yadav’s house.

Earlier in the day, there was fresh political turmoil in the Trinamool Congress when several leaders associated with the party were seen at the house of Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav in Delhi. It was even said that West Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari was also present during the meeting. This incident happened when many opposition leaders participated in the INDIA Block meeting at the Constitution Club of Delhi.

Former Rajya Sabha member Sukhendu Shekhar Roy, who had resigned from TMC earlier in the day, was also among the people who reached Bhupendra Yadav’s house. Others seen at the meeting here included Prasun Banerjee, Jagdish Basunia, Kali Pad Soren, Arup Chakraborty, Abu Tahir, Asit Mal, Dr Sharmila Sarkar and Khalilur Rehman.
