Mamata Banerjee: The dead body of 28-year-old Bristi Mukherjee, niece of former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was found at her residence in Kusumba village under Rampurhat police station limits of Birbhum district on Tuesday morning. According to preliminary information, Bristy was found dead in a room on the second floor of the house around 9 am on Tuesday morning. The family informed the Rampurhat police about this. Police rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident. After that, the body was taken into custody and sent to Rampurhat Government Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. The exact cause of death is expected to be known after the autopsy report and police investigation.

Bristi Mukherjee got a job as a non-teaching staff in an upper primary school in Bolpur in March 2023. The high-profile school recruitment case in West Bengal raised questions over the appointment of thousands of teaching and non-teaching staff.
