Mamta Raj’s ‘black book’ ready to be opened: Shubhendu’s team and Judicial Commission start big investigation

A big earthquake is about to come in the politics of West Bengal. A high-level judicial commission has now been formed to investigate the functioning of the TMC government in the last 15 years. This commission will reveal the layers of economic irregularities that took place between 2011 and 2026. This judicial commission formed under the leadership of retired Calcutta High Court judge Biswajit Basu will closely investigate the alleged financial scams that took place during the Mamata Banerjee government. The government says that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the concerns of the people of the state.

These big departments will be on the radar

The scope of this investigation includes not just one department, but many important departments of the government. These include major departments like Education, Food and Supplies, Housing, Fisheries, Industries Department and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA). Now this Judicial Commission will keep a close eye on whatever frauds have taken place in these departments in the last one and a half decade.

Preparations for arrest of Vice Chancellors?

Meanwhile, a statement by State Education Minister Jagannath Chattopadhyay has created a stir in the educational world of Bengal. He has given clear indications that the government’s fight against corruption will now intensify. In an interview, the minister said, “You have seen the former education minister going to jail, now the time has come that the role of vice-chancellors of universities should also be investigated.” He further said in a warning tone that there is no need to be surprised if some Vice Chancellors are seen facing jail in the coming days.

Pledge for ‘corruption free’ education

According to the Education Minister, the political interference of the last 15 years has hollowed out the education system of Bengal. The priority of the government now is to make these institutions ‘corruption free and politics free’. This entire development comes after the arrest of leaders like Partha Chatterjee and the school recruitment scam, which had already raised big questions on the credibility of the Bengal government. Now the warning of action against the Vice Chancellors has made it clear that the government is now in a mood to tighten the noose not only on the people holding political positions but also on the corrupt officials holding administrative and educational positions.
