Uttar Pradesh, Jaunpur. 29-year-old Vasu Seth alias Raman, a resident of Hanuman Ghat Mohalla, fed up with the harassment from his wife and in-laws, consumed poisonous substance after cutting the vein of his hand with a blade on Wednesday night and died. He took this suicidal step after making a video call to his wife Pooja Seth and in front of his seven-year-old son Shiv. After this incident, the police took the body into custody and completed the legal process.

According to sources, Vasu alias Raman, son of jeweler businessman Mahesh Seth, was married eight years ago to Pooja Seth, daughter of Jai Prakash Seth of Bhadohi district, who is a resident of Naudhan village of Unj police station area. Her family members allege that for the last three years, Gyan Devi, along with other in-laws including his wife, father-in-law, and mother-in-law, were demanding money. They were troubling his father a lot. A case was also registered in Bhadohi regarding dowry harassment. 25 days ago, Pooja Seth got Vasu alias Raman harassed by the police by giving an application at Raj College police post. And after this, Pooja left her son Shiv at her in-laws house and went to her maternal home, taking her two daughters with her. After this, Pooja and her maternal family were calling Vasu and his family members every day and giving various threats. Vasu started feeling stressed due to this.
After being very stressed for a few days, Vasu went to his room around 11 pm on Wednesday night and made a video call to Pooja and talked about committing suicide. Then, while talking to his son Shiva, he cut the vein of his hand with a blade. And said that there is no fault of the grandparents in this. It’s all your mother’s fault. After this Vasu mixed poisonous substance in a glass and drank it. When his relatives came to know about his serious condition, they quickly took him to Dr. VS Upadhyay’s Ashadeep Hospital. When we got a reply from there, we took him to the district hospital. Later the doctors declared him dead at around 11.48 pm.
